Lisa - creator of the dream-like space that is Santosha! The vision for Santosha came about in 2013 when I was working as a Behaviour Analyst specialising in Autistc children. I would help these children in various ways but always noticed on the periphery that there was more work needed. Not with the children as such, but those that surrounded them. I noticed that support networks played a vital role in helping these children thrive. I used Yoga and Meditation as a way to create deeper bonds with these children and those around them, such as parents, carers, teaching staff. This then led me into thinking about my own life and how, at times, I have dipped in and out of various methods of support when I needed it. I could never find that one place that would house them all. I would travel around trying lots of things that all worked, but I always wished for a base where it felt like a retreat.. a home from home where I could access that feeling of support as soon as I walked through the door. Wouldn’t it be great if there was somewhere out there for people to access that.. whether it was me, or those I was working with, friends.. family... everyone.. and so it started, the vision became clear, and here we are today. A home from home where you can come and have a cuppa, a session or gain support in many ways, always greeted with a smile, and lots of love along the way, from all of our Santosha Tribe.
Lisa comes from a career of almost a quarter of a century supporting children and parents in early years settings, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. With a BA in Early Childhood Education, Lisa has recently also qualified as a baby massage instructor with Blossom and Berry (accredited by the Royal College of Midwives), and through Listening Touch Therapies has launched a new and exciting journey into holistic health and wellbeing. Supporting babies, children and adults in various capacities, Lisa is also parent to three children herself, and knows how precious those early years are. Classes are planned to be a positive, relaxing and uplifting experience for all involved, in an environment which calms the soul.
The 'Wellbeing girl' was set up back in 2018, it started as just a page on Instagram (@thewellbeinggirl)! It was designed as a safe space for me to share my own practice and learnings through wellbeing tips to support people in their highs and their lows of life! Soon I realised that I wanted this to become more than just a hobby, so I enrolled in a coach training programme. I am very passionate about making a difference to those around me, I myself have visited a whole host of different people in my struggle to find out who I truly am. From Hypnotherapy, to NLP practitioners to counsellors none of them were able to truly empower me to make the shift that I needed. That is what got me thinking, if this is something I am struggling with I wonder who else is experiencing a similar issue? I felt a real lack for a holistic approach to supporting people not with one aspect of their mental health, but looking at the whole picture - mind, body and soul. Jen has been teaching yoga, mindfulness and meditation in South Oxfordshire for 15 years, having trained with British Wheel of Yoga. She is passionate about the yogic lifestyle and regularly attends meditation retreats as well as exploring other Eastern disciplines such as Qi Gong and Ayurveda. Jen is also a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist, this practice supports and informs her yoga classes. Jen's approach is gentle and inclusive with an emphasis on mindfulness, so all are welcome, regardless of age, size, shape or colour - every body is a yoga body!
Suzanne’s world has always included art, from creating it, teaching it, finding that perfect painting for others, and including all these skills within art therapy to help the most vulnerable. She has been successfully running after school craft clubs around South Oxfordshire for over a decade, and is proud to be able to now extend this within Santosha on Tuesdays from January 2020.
Vikki has been teaching under the banner of The Traditional Yoga Association since 2005. Practicing for 30 years, she finds yoga both grounding and incredibly uplifting. She teaches a variety of classes and one-to-one’s in South Oxfordshire. Vikki feels that yoga is “truly for all! The diversity means there is a practice for everyone”. “Enabling students to find their own practice, to explore the way the body can move and change is a joy”. Her down to earth teaching reminds us to stay in the body, to remain present with each breath. There is a fun side to her teaching and always an encouraging reminder to smile, to yourself, your fellow students, your fellow human kind.
Aron is a level 2 Reiki practitioner on a journey through sound & conscious living. He feels that his offerings bring a sense of connection and well-being to the community. Aron has been co-facilitating guided sound journeys with his partner, Amanda, since 2017. Through the use of intuitive guided meditation and live sound performance, they create an atmosphere of resonance to the universal frequencies that surround us - inviting deep relaxation and balance into the space. He also collaborates on a regular basis with Yoga teachers and other practitioners, bringing his passion for sound and vibration into the space. Attuned to Level 2 Usui and Seichem Reiki in 2018, Aron offers private one to one sessions that are tailored to the individual, and include a unique blend of Reiki and Sound. Aron is currently studying further Practitioner level Sound Therapies to complement his offerings, with a broader spectrum of instruments including gongs and crystal bowls.

I chose Angelic Reiki as it is a gentle yet powerful healing modality that involves the pure love and energy of the Angels. As an Aromatherapist I offer consultations for a range of physical and emotional conditions. Amanda & Aron
Aron and Amanda have been in a sacred union for 14 years. They have a very strong, intuitive connection and live a fun and spiritual life. They are both facilitators and Reiki practitioners from Oxfordshire, UK. Offering both group work and private sessions such as Guided Sound Journeys, Double Reiki, Reiki and private Sound Journeys, and Reiki for couples. Aron and Amanda offer these sessions together, enhancing the experience, creating balance and harmony from them both as channels. They have a very gentle and holistic approach, ensuring the client feels at ease and at home in the space. They have been offering Guided Sound Journeys in and around Oxfordshire for the past two years. Opening up a space for sharing and then after a guided meditation relaxing into the sounds of the Rav Vast drum, a steel drum, with the G pygmy scale which balances sounds of the Solar & Lunar energies - the music is performed live by Aron and the words intuitively guided by Amanda.
Ethan will be offering classes that will include elements of yoga, mobilisation, strengthening core, animal movements, breath work, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and rehabilitation for any and all injuries. He will also be offering holistic and deep tissue massage alongside his classes, together with one-to-one breath work meditations.
Holly has been dedicated to her yoga and meditation practice for over 9 years, experiencing various styles of yoga and being inspired by many teachers along the way. Embracing a life of yoga practice and with a strong desire to share her knowledge and passion with others, Holly took a step back from her psychology teaching profession to discover the world of yoga teaching and went on to complete her 200 hour RYT in Vinyasa & Yoga Alchemy in Costa Rica during 2017. She has since journeyed further to gain a 60 hour Teen Yoga & Mindfulness qualification and Usai Reiki level II Practitioner Diploma. She has gone on to unite her psychology & yoga knowledge by offering yoga & mindfulness classes in schools to staff and students in which she is always left feeling even more inspired not only by the receptive & wholehearted nature of the people she encounters but by their ability to achieve inner fulfilment with such ease. Holly’s classes are each unique in style and each infused with a mix of yoga philosophy, dynamic sequencing and meditation. You can expect to come away from the mat feeling nurtured and revitalised in mind and body with a fostered sense of confidence & joy. Amanda Tracey is a Circle Facilitator, Artist and Energy Worker from Oxfordshire, UK. She is passionate about assisting the evolution of consciousness on the planet, with the intention to offer a held, safe space for others, in groups and one on one - inviting people to reconnect with the self, the Earth and their higher purpose. She works holistically and as a channel to assist others on their healing journey; Amanda is dedicated and committed to this work that she feels is so deeply needed at this time. Amanda facilitates creative workshops, hosts women's gatherings, runs retreats, and also co-facilitates guided sound Journeys with her partner, Aron. Amanda trained as a circle facilitator in Bali 2016, where she embarked on a 5 day intensive training called 'The Way of the Circle'. She has since guided Women's Circles for the past three years. She is also attuned to Level 2 Usui Reiki and Seichem Reiki, and has been a certified practitioner since Feb 2016. Reiki has been a huge part of her own healing journey, and receiving this form of energy work on a regular basis has been extremely beneficial to her in all ways. Claire’s teaching style is a combination of the strong Hatha training received during her level 4 certification / 300hr TT with the BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) and her love of movement and vinyasa yoga. Claire originally trained in Freestyle Fitness Yoga after qualifying as an aerobics instructor many years before. Claire continually seeks to further her own education and has just completed a 30 hour training course in ‘The Art of Assisting’. Claire has a growing interest in yoga philosophy and traditional teachings and often threads ideas from this study throughout her class development. She takes great pleasure in seeing how yoga can deeply change peoples’ lives; witnessing her students grow in confidence and develop an understanding of self-care.
This Hatha Yoga class is inspired by the practices in Satyananda Yoga and will contain the following: joint mobility; a digestive/abdominal technique; an energy block posture; a standing posture; Salutations to the Sun; a balance; a forward bend; a backward bend; a spinal twist and a relaxation period. You will increase your awareness of the body to be able to move freely and easily in day-to-day life. The postures will be standing, seated, kneeling and lying. You will create strong foundations in your strength and flexibility. Over time, control of the breath results in a slower breathing rate, keeping the heart stronger and better nourished. The movements and techniques are designed to be integrated into your daily routine. They will also complement other styles of Yoga.
Rosalia offers an Auricular Acupuncture Eve session on Fridays. Auricular acupuncture (of the ear) is a treatment that has been derived from Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. Using the NADA five-point protocol, it can be used for stress, depression, anxiety and substance misuse, as well as smoking cessation. These five points can be used all together or several at a time, to help alleviate all the ailments mentioned. A series of treatments are recommended but this can also be used in group sessions to promote wellbeing, help with smoking cessation and reduce anxiety. Come and join the group session here at Santosha, or book a one to one and this will be tailored to your needs. If you are trying to quit smoking, auricular acupuncture is helpful in your journey as well. Taster Workshops for Indian Head Massage and reflexology are also run at Santosha. I am excited to be teaching Mindfulness-based approaches at Santosha along with my co-teacher Emma Turner. We will be offering sessions and courses for beginners to mindfulness practice and for experienced meditators. Cultivating mindfulness has had a huge impact on me, and I am passionate about teaching mindfulness ‘skills for life’ with integrity. I trained at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre to teach Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, and with the Mindfulness in Schools Project and Calm for Kids to teach mindfulness for primary-aged children. Emma and I are listed on the UK Network of Mindfulness Teachers. I’m a mum of two and whenever I have the opportunity, I love to walk in nature.
